The Great Chief Justice to be Featured in Educational Documentary

May 24, 2017 by Scott Layman

The John Marshall Foundation is working with the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) to produce a video titled “I Was the First. You Can Be a Lawyer, Too!” a web-based documentary designed to feature first-generation lawyers. The JMF has been asked to tell the story of John Marshall as a prime example of a first-generation lawyer who did incredible things for our country.

Judge John McClellan Marshall, a retired Texas state court judge, Episcopal bishop, and Marshall descendant, will represent the Foundation in telling the Marshall story for the video, filmed in Dallas, where he lives.

TYLA’s goal is to make a legal education accessible to all students, especially those coming from a family unaware of college, much less law school, or a family with limited resources.
